As Resorts World Las Vegas\u2019 Vice President of International Marketing, Genting is backing Shulman\u2019s pedigree of attracting international gamblers to Sin City to up its global appeal.<\/p>\n

Resorts World issued a press release Tuesday stating Shulman\u2019s remit will concentrate on high net-worth players as a \u201clong-term growth strategy of expanding our international presence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Great expectations<\/h2>\n

Shulman, who has more than 30 years\u2019 experience in the gaming industry, stated in the release he was excited to join the Genting subsidiary\u00a0<\/a>\u201cas we look to accelerate our growth<\/a> in the international VIP player market.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shulman\u2019s resume includes over a decade-and-a-half as an MGM Resorts International\u2019s Vice President of International Marketing and, more recently, Palms Las Vegas\u2019 Vice President of Casino Marketing, a position he held for over three years before his March 17 move to Resorts World.<\/p>\n

Resorts World\u2019s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Carlos Castro stated his new colleague was \u201cwidely regarded as one of the top player development executives\u201d across the industry.<\/p>\n

Shulman steps into the breach in an attempt to restore Resorts World\u2019s credibility after a litany of controversies.\u00a0These include the high-profile firing of its ex-President and COO Scott Sibella, an indirect role in an illegal MLB sports gambling scandal<\/a>, and multiple disciplinary complaints.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Of the latter, Resorts World only recently came to a $10.5m settlement with Nevada gaming regulators <\/a>over AML compliance failures, the second-largest fine in the state\u2019s history<\/p>\n

Band gets back together<\/h2>\n

The Las Vegas Review-Journal <\/em>on Tuesday reported how the appointment of Shulman is essentially an attempt to reunite former colleagues in a genuine power play.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth Castro and Shulman worked for MGM Resorts when the Las Vegas-based gaming and hospitality corporation was headed by Jim Murren, now chairman of Resorts World\u2019s recently formed board of directors.\u201d<\/p>\n

His former boss Murren stated Resorts World was excited to welcome Shulman on board, citing his \u201cproven track record of executing marketing strategies that attract new audiences and drive financial growth.\u201d<\/p>\n
