The teen who shot dead the son of an ex-North Las Vegas state senator at Aliante Casino and Hotel in North Las Vegas recently is facing the death penalty.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to reports on Wednesday, prosecutors are considering hitting Aerion Warmsley, 19, with the death penalty for killing\u00a0Na\u2019Onche Osborne, 23, at the Aliante in March.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Osborne was the son of ex-North Las Vegas state senator and candidate for mayor, Patricia Ann Spearman.<\/p>\n

Night of chaos<\/h2>\n

In March, Warmsley fled from police in a high-speed car chase involving three stolen vehicles. He hit two pedestrians.<\/p>\n

Nevada courts indicted Warmsley last week on multiple counts, with the prime charge murder with use of a deadly weapon, along with federal gun and carjacking charges.<\/p>\n

Other charges were \u201crobbery, reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily harm and duty to stop at the scene of a crash involving death or personal injury.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The NLVPD previously stated that while fleeing in a Mercedes, the suspect hit two pedestrians<\/a> at a Tropicana Avenue\/Boulder Highway bus stop, resulting in serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Death penalty<\/h2>\n

According to reports, Chief Deputy District Attorney Binu Palal said the case was going to committee<\/a>. The LVR-J<\/em> stated Palal\u2019s comment most likely references the case is heading to the committee in charge of pursuing death penalties.<\/p>\n

Deputy District Attorney Morgan Lombardo added further jeopardy to Warmsley\u2019s life expectancy. Lombardo said prosecutors were considering capital punishment over aggravating factors including \u201cthe mass destruction of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nevada still enforces the death penalty, which is delivered solely by lethal injection. The state has, however, not lethally dispatched any criminal since 2006. <\/p>\n
